Where you will be working
Batlow, a delightful rural escape in the Tumut region of the NSW Snowy Mountains showcasing one of Australia’s iconic ‘big things’ - the Big Apple. We celebrate our delicious produce, which includes apples, cherries, pears, berries and cider.
Our Multipurpose Service provides emergency, medical and residential aged care services including palliative care and respite. Of the 24 beds, 19 are for residential aged care.
Community Health services are outreached from Tumut and include community nursing, child and family health, women’s health, Speech and Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Mental Health Drug & Alcohol services.
4.5 hrs drive from Sydney and 2.3hrs from Canberra, we are part of the scenic Snowy Valleys Way touring route winding through breathtaking landscapes, charming towns and fascinating heritage. Learn more about our benefits and lifestyle here!
About the Opportunity
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, participates in the provision of safe, compassionate, person centred care, in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients. Dependant on the needs of the health service, the AIN can have the opportunity to work within acute care, sub-acute, mental health and aged care units.
The AIN works as a member of the nursing team, assisting nurses and supporting patients in their activities of daily living. For example, helping patients with their hygiene needs and assisting nurses monitor their condition by taking blood pressure, temperature and respiration rates
