The Office of the Sheriff of NSW are currently recruiting for casual Court Officer roles at the following locations:
- Albury Court House
- Bathurst/Orange Court Houses
Salary range $32,102 to $62, 839 (pro rata) plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave.

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is the lead agency under the Stronger Communities Cluster. DCJ works to enable everyone’s right to access justice and help for families through early intervention and inclusion, with benefits for the whole community. For the first time, the creation of DCJ and Stronger Communities provides an opportunity to focus on prevention and early intervention across both the social welfare and justice systems.
About the Role
As a Court Officer supporting regional courts in NSW you will be part of the Office of the Sheriff of NSW. You will provide day to day operational support within a functioning courtroom environment.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Checking court papers
- Assisting with handling of court papers
- Liaising with court room personnel
- Data entry
- Jury support
- Management and the facilitation of courtrooms
About you
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
- Strong communication skills
- Exceptional data entry skills
- Ability to provide attention to detail
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Deal with confidential matters
Essential requirements
Ability to maintain the confidentiality and the integrity of the Court and the jury process
Appointments are subject to reference checks. This role also requires the following checks/ clearances:
- National Criminal History Record Check (Fingerprint check)
