Your new company
We are currently working with the Launceston City Council, the largest council in the North of Tasmania who are integral to the growing and innovative local community. To continue the city’s ongoing asset development and maintenance strategy, they are currently looking for a Civil Asset Planner to join their Roads and Traffic Team.
Your new role
This varied and challenging Civil Asset Planning role will see you work as part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team with a key focus on road assets such as footpaths, pavements, traffic furniture, lighting, kerbs and retaining walls in road reservations. You will be responsible for the overseeing the City of Launceston’s road assets, working alongside a variety of stakeholders to provide technical advice, undertake inspections, modelling, management of the road assets condition data as well as developing renewal and upgrade programs for these assets. You will also develop and coordinate regular inspections of civil structural assets including bridges and retaining walls that will be performed by external contractors.
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally holding a Civil Engineering degree, you will be a self-motivated, adaptable individual who is passionate about civil engineering and driven to continually develop your skills and knowledge. With experience working in civil design, road asset management and municipal engineering, you will be committed to outstanding customer service and really love what you do. With strong communication skills and the ability to prepare reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will need to be a strong team player who is able to convey information across different departments and coordinate with other team members, whilst having sound judgement, decision making and risk analysis skills.
