Opportunity exists for a part-time temporary contract Clinical Dietitian (Level 1/2) at the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Unit, Ryde Hospital.

Where you’ll be working
The Clinical Dietitian provides a high quality Nutrition and Dietetics service within the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Unit. As a key member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, the Clinical Dietitian is an advocate for nutrition services and works closely with the Dietitian Assistant.

What you’ll be doing
The position is part of the Dietetics team at the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Unit (sub-acute care) and also assists with nutrition care of acute care patients admitted to Ryde Hospital as requested. In addition, the position is required to participate in the provision of the face to face weekend/public holiday Dietetic service on the Ryde Hospital campus (acute care and sub-acute care) for long weekends as rostered. The required days of week are Monday and Tuesday (not negotiable). There may be potential for additional days of work to be offered, subject to approval.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
  • Commitment to participation in professional development, quality improvement activities and workplace education.
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of service to consumers, carers and families requiring effective interpersonal communication, networking and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
  • Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency networks.
