What you’ll be doing

The CNC Infection Control will demonstrate the ability to identify infection risks associated with specific clinical practices or non-compliance with recommended processes. Implement changes to clinical care and process that may reduce such risks and evaluate the impact of implemented changes on infection rates. Work closely with colleagues to determine strategies to minimise the risk of infection by the identification and development of standards and policies for all hospital services.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications at Masters level, or working towards same, or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and strategic planning to set priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to critique evidence summaries for their application into practice and an ability to analyse data in a meaningful way to provide actionable information.
  • Demonstrated ability in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines, and experience in reviewing and evaluating policies, procedures and guidelines. Experience in report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise a broad range of communication skills both verbal and written with demonstrated advanced facilitation, group process and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership and to work both independently and as part of a team to support a positive workplace culture.
