Apply your strategic leadership to deliver key infrastructure and programs across the Social Inclusion, Sports, Recreation, Arts, Culture, Libraries and Heritage portfolios.

Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) takes a whole-of-life approach to addressing the vulnerabilities in our society through providing support services to create positive change for children, families, communities and seniors across the Northern Territory.

The Communities’ division is responsible for the design and development of key programs and initiatives to deliver and enable services so that Territorians; remain connected to their heritage and culture; live actively; feel valued and are included in their community.

As the executive leader of Communities, you provide strategic leadership to oversee the development of key strategic focus areas such as the Creative Industries Strategy, the Live Music Strategy, the NT Sport and Active Recreation Strategic and Infrastructure Plan. You will also be responsible for enabling the discovery, protection, connection and promotion of the Territory’s heritage, and partnering with government agencies to address barriers that may limit or exclude people from full participation in community life. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders you will influence the development of policies and the delivery of Government support programs to facilitate and monitor the implementation of Communities’ programmes and initiations across the Territory.

This is a key role leadership role that requires demonstrated experience in a senior executive leadership position; proven success in delivering reforms and implementing new programs, a strong understanding and awareness of emerging social issues in an NT regional and remote context.

Proven political acumen, strong motivation and a proven track record of achievement is essential.

As part of a passionate and talented executive leadership group, you play a key role in a high profile government agency, enjoy the benefits of a competitive salary, generous recreational and personal leave, and the opportunity to develop your career in the NT Public Sector. Living in Darwin allows you the opportunity to enjoy the natural landscapes of the Northern Territory, and experience a relaxed lifestyle in a culturally rich society.
