Disability Support Workers Needed (Wallaroo Area)

We are seeking enthusiastic staff to assist those people we support to live full and meaningful lifestyles. Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker is very important but not essential.

We are also keen to hear from people with common lived experience of individuals with developmental disability and/or Autism.

The position is for permanent part-time if you are interested.

Shifts will include a combination of morning, afternoon, sleepovers or active nights and weekends. You will work around the needs of each person so we need you to be reasonably flexible.

You will:

Provide direct support to individuals in a person-centered and safe environment

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement

Demonstrate a commitment to the values, beliefs and mission of our Company

Have good interpersonal and communication skills

Have the ability to take initiative and problem solve

Support individuals in a manner that shows respect and increases their independence, improves their communication and builds their self-confidence

Maintain effective communication between clients, carers, families and staff as required

Provide a range of ’personal care’ for individuals in a way that maximises their independence, choice and dignity

Become familiar with, and assist in, the implementation of each person’s individual support plans Maintain and uphold our privacy and confidentiality

Adhere to our Policies, Protocols and Procedures

Have completed the new NDIS Worker Orientation module

Support individuals to maintain their home which may include undertaking a range of household duties, i.e. cleaning, cooking, laundry Record and maintain accurate non-judgmental client information

Be available for ongoing training and development

Essential Requirements:

Certificate 3 in Disability or Community Services is essential

Current Provide First Aid Current DHS

Working with Children Check /Disability Services

Employment check or NDIS Worker Check is mandatory

Current Driver’s Licence

Current Manual Handling Certificate

Current Certificate in Medication management

Able to work independently and or in a team environment

Must be available between Monday to Sunday 24/7 roster system

Good communication skills
