Nursing Support Unit
Permanent, part-time(Minimum 48 to 72 hours per fortnight)

Ballarat Health Services is the largest regional hospital in the Grampians region. Ballarat Health Services employs around 4,000 staff to ensure optimum care is provided for all patients, families and visitors.

The Nursing Support Unit are a group of staff who have permanent hours, a roster and the opportunity to work across all sectors at Ballarat Health Services.

Nursing Support Unit staff are required to work across all Directorates; acute, sub-acute, and residential aged care settings to fill shortfalls related to maternity leave, long service leave, study leave, work cover, sick leave and unplanned high activity demands. Nursing Support Unit staff are required to work a variety of shift times (AM, PM and Night).

The Nursing Support Unit is managed by the Central Allocations Unit which operates 7 days a week. Ballarat Health Services uses an electronic rostering system (RosterOn) which matches staff for shifts based on their employee skills / qualifications and availabilities. Staff are able to see their roster and allocated shifts using this electronic system.
