Our clients run an innovative family-owned mixed farming business located at Skipton, Victoria. Covering 3,300 Ha, this productive property has a focus on increasing production and is well resourced and positioned to expand in the future to grow the business. With all modern and very well-kept machinery, good infrastructure, including fencing and an extensive laneway system. The operation consists of approximately 6,500 breeding ewes, 250 Angus breeders and crop around 1100 ha with cereals, beans and canola.

We are searching for someone who has experience working with stock to join this progressive business in the role of farm hand. This supportive, professional, and inclusive family will also consider those with less skills but must be passionate, have the right attitude and be willing to learn.

The role will be centered around livestock husbandry and will also include general farm maintenance, and operation of a range of modern machinery. You must be reliable and able to work autonomously.

Experience and skills required:

• Excellent livestock handling and husbandry skills
• Pride in work performed with attention to detail
• Ideally a team of working dogs
• Drivers license essential - HC/MC truck license (ideal or willing to obtain)
• Training with Farm Chemical Use and associated record keeping (or willing to obtain)
• Good with machinery and have a good mechanical aptitude
• Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

This is a permanent position and a generous salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant including above award wage, work vehicle and a very comfortable renovated 3-bedroom house with school bus at the front gate. The property is located close to the town of Skipton with schools and medical facilities close by and a strong and vibrant local community.
