About the role | 18 Month Fixed Term Contract We are seeking an accomplished and equally ambitious Financial Accountant to join our team. Joining an existing high-performing finance team and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will be a key player in the delivery of the financial reporting requirements for the business as well as be involved in a variety of finance tasks such as month end/board reporting, tax compliance and statutory financial accounts. There is also opportunity to be involved in system improvements and innovation projects. Utilising your strong relationship-building skills, ability to pick up and understand business drivers, and analysis skills you will provide high quality financial management and advice. You will enjoy working in an environment where we have established reporting processes and systems, and have opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects across the finance team. Responsibilities: Assist with delivery of financial statements (including month end tasks) Assist with tax compliance obligations (including Income Tax, FBT and GST) Reviewing and approving various payments (creditors, treasury-related) Maintain and continually improve and develop processes and reporting Assist in design of system relating to finance and creation of accounting processes; and Management of ad hoc projects and acting as SME in projects as required What we’re looking for As an experienced Financial Accountant you will pride yourself on your ability to innovate, drive efficiencies and achieve customer focused goals. You will form close working relationships with business stakeholders and influence stakeholders to meet the financial & strategic requirements of the business and drive optimal financial outcomes and support business initiatives. Essential skills and criteria Degree and working towards a post graduate qualification (e.g. CPA, CA) in a relevant field such as Finance or Accounting Demonstrated experience in financial reporting practices and tax compliance matters Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management both internal and external Excellent interpersonal, resource management and communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage projects or initiatives and meet deadlines Demonstrated minimum of three years’ experience with financial and management reporting practices Strong data analysis and reporting skills utilising a variety of reporting tools (experience in Sun Systems and Infor Q&A will be highly regarded but not essential) Experience in VBA will be highly regarded however not essential as support and training will be provided for the right candidate.
