About The Opportunity

Your role as aLabourer - Water Services is to be part of a multi-disciplined team that is capable of performing a wide range of maintenance, repair and construction activities along with the operation of light mechanical plant within the Water Services facilities and reticulation infrastructure, to provide a safe, efficient and responsive 24/7 service.

This manual labouring role involves (but is not limited to) pipe laying, working with the mobile plants, live sewer, roads, as well as working in confined spaces and within close proximity chlorine systems. In addition to this, you will operate and maintain equipment, plant, and machinery and be required to assist with after-hours work and be part of an on-call support roster.

About You
  • Possession of (or ability to obtain) a ’MR’ Drivers Licence and Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card.
  • Verified skills to operate light mechanical equipment used within the water industry
  • Availability to work after-hours as part of an on-call roster
  • Demonstrated physical fitness and capability to undertake manual labouring work.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with a variety of internal and external parties
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment to ensure set outcomes are achieved.
  • Previous experience with construction and maintenance works within the water services industry and/or Traffic Management Implementation will be highly regarded.
  • Live and uphold Council values and a "can do " approach to work

The Selection Process
