Viticon Investments is a family run business started in 1952 as a fresh produce farm for lettuce, potatoes, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cabbage and leeks. We are now fully established and operation vineyard, winery and cherry orchard.

We are looking for a Leading Hand able to:

• Participate in all farming operations
• Work independently and in a team
• Prepare, maintaining and use farming machinery and equipment for vineyard, orchard and market garden operations
• Maintain of soils according to specifications
• Propagate, plant, re-plant and transfer plants between growing sites
• Maintain fertilizer and chemicals storage
• Maintain sufficient stocks of nutrients and fertilizers
• Take routine soil tests, adjust level of nutrients as required
• Operate, service and otherwise maintain irrigation
• Operate and maintain fertigation equipment
• Broadcast, spray and add fertilizers and nutrients
• Monitor and report plant health
• Apply pesticides to treat diseases
• Control weeds
• Harvest, transfer, store, pack crops and prepare for dispatch
• Record soil, plant, treatment, yield and dispatch data
• Supervise casual and contacted staff during field work and machinery operation
• Promote and cultivate a positive workplace environment that adhere to the business values
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, follow health and safety policies and procedures
• Other tasks as required

When farm managers are not present, you will be required to assume team leader role and be in charge of all ground operations and be responsible for workplace health and safety requirements.
