The Mental Health Worker (Recovery and Rehabilitation) will provide (non- clinical) case management and direct support to vulnerable people such as those who suffer from mental health issues. This initiative is designed to work with participants to address key areas that support vulnerable people so they can maintain successful tenancies and participate in their communities. This support often results in improvements in their quality of life and, most importantly, assists in their recovery. The role also requires you to travel (work car will be provided) between the office and participant accommodations to provide the needed support.

Adecco is partnering up with a well-known industry leader who is looking for a part- time (0.5) Mental Health- Rehabilitation and Recovery Worker that are passionate about helping individuals with mental health challenges reach their goals. They will provide case management and direct daily living support and work with individuals, families and the community to achieve better lives and advocating for change to make sure people can access the best possible care and information when they need it. Providing a wide range of services and assistance for people of all ages with mental health issues, disabilities, and those requiring community care.

Description

The Practice Frameworks identify a range of tools and processes to assist participants to develop the confidence and capacity to manage their own well-being; equip family and friends with information and skills; and engage community members as mentors and supports. Under the support and direction of the Coordinator Recovery & Rehabilitation Services, this role works with the team and other key internal and external stakeholders in the ongoing development and effective implementation of program plans.

Recovery and Rehabilitation Services: Providing case management and direct support to participants and carers within the relevant practice frameworks, the organisations policy and procedures, all applicable legislative standards, any relevant accreditation standards and agreed SLA’s.

Team Effectiveness: Working as an active member of the program team to ensure the achievement of program goals and the application of best practice frameworks.

Organisational Alignment: Contributing to the effective operation and on-going development of the program offer to ensure that the program reflects the organisational values, best evidence-based practice and demonstrates innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement: Working with the wider community and key stakeholders to support value adding participant outcomes.

  • Ability to plan, organise and meet deadlines

  • Ability to advocate on behalf of consumers for service improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills including computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Ability and commitment to work with consumers, carers, the community and community organisations
  • Desirable: Prior experience in relevant role or working within community services

Other requirements:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module
  • Working with Chilldrens Check, National Police Check (current- within 6 months) and Drivers License
  • Australian working rights or Australian Passport/ Birth Certificate
  • COVID 19 Vaccination certificate (FULL)
  • Relevant experience and/ or qualifications or able to demonstrate working toward these qualifications
