What you’ll be doing

This Procurement Project Officer is responsible for providing procurement expertise and streamlining the delivery of Procurement & Supply Chain support services into the relevant Hubs & Services. The role is responsible for leading and delivering high quality project management expertise to support the relevant programs and projects across the District. The role leads and coordinates procurement arrangements in support of the Operations team, to effectively meet organisational, business objectives and strategic priorities.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in applying best practice project and/or change management methodologies to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice and support to achieve improvements in procurement practice within a large, complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and deliver outcomes to agreed deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision making.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, and to pro-actively manage issues and risks in order to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently but with a capacity for effective team work.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety issues in particular use of correct manual handling techniques.
