Your new company
It’s never been a more exciting time to join the South Australia Police, Information, Systems and Technology Service. SAPOL provides a diverse range of services to the community aimed at providing a safe and peaceful environment. The Information, Systems and Technology Service are transforming and are seeking new skills and attributes to enhance the ICT approach for the organisation. SAPOL’s vision is to provide a visible, responsive police service for all South Australians. All SAPOL employees are guided by Our Values of Service; Integrity, Courage, Leadership, Collaboration and Respect. SAPOL is an organisation with a proud history and an exciting vision for the future.
Your new role
The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.
Shield is SAPOL’s largest technical Program, delivering the Niche RMS application across the whole organisation. This system is central to policing in SA, and already in use by our more than 5000 police officers on a daily basis, however there are significant additional elements of functionality to be implemented.
What you’ll need to succeed
The Program Coordinator is a key member the Shield Program Team and will be responsible for providing expertise in planning and optimising the program to deliver business outcomes.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Negotiating across IS&T to balance the needs of the program with other competing needs, and where necessary, managing procurement activities.
- The role is critical to managing risks and issues across the program.
- The role will also be responsible for undertaking program-wide projects and evaluations, and providing options and recommendations to the Head of Shield and the Shield Board to minimise risk and maximise sustainable outcomes from projects.
- The role will develop Board papers and provide accurate, clear and accessible reporting on the status and health of the Program.
What you’ll get in return
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major program of work in a large SA Government department that is going through a transformational change period and investing in ICT as a driver of business excellence.
