The Position

St John of God Bunbury Hospital are now seeking applications from enthusiastic and experienced Registered Midwives to join the busy team within our Maternity ward.

As a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of patient care in a safe and effective manner.

This position will be offered on a permanent part-time basis, working 60 hours per fortnight. Casual positions are also available. Applicants must be available to work a variety of shifts including evening, night and weekend shifts.

Applicants must have dual registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and have previous experience within the Birthing suite.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, or seek help from appropriate resources.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask to achieve desired results.
  • A commitment to personal ongoing education and professional development.
  • An understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
