What you’ll be doing The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of person centred, evidenced-based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes in the Pre admission clinic. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the Multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The Registered Nurse will assist in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and will maintain their professional accountability and development in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Competency Standards. Further to this the Registered Nurse will align their professional conduct with those of the NSW Health CORE values.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.

Selection Criteria

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrated ability to actively contribute to the development of clinical practice.
  • Relevant post registration experience with at least 3 years’ experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pre-operative patient management and commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Infection Control Principles.
  • An understanding of person centred care and NSW Health Core Value.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise workload and proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
