The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Service Supervisorto join our team at our Newcastle Branch. The purpose of this role is to manage the Service related positions that carry out day to day service on a range of world class machinery, overseeing operational activities with a focus on safety.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise & mentor Service Department staff to ensure customer service levels are maintained
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers both internal and external.
  • Ensure safe operation of the Service department including activities in field service as well as the workshop
  • Regularly monitor performance gaps and recommend training and cross skilling of staff as required
  • Monitor productivity levels and implement plans to achieve targets.
  • Ensure service WIP levels are maintained within the customer support charter.
  • Work with other departments, branches, and regions to maintain Komatsu as a premium supplier of earthmoving equipment and after market services.
  • Become familiar with Komatsu policies and procedures, and ensure staff are aware of and act in accordance with these.

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

  • Mechanical trade with experience in the earthmoving, mining, or associated heavy industries
  • Supervisory experience mentoring and coaching team members
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing workloads and priorities
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
