What you’ll be doing

The Shoalhaven Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (SCMHRS) Team Coordinator is responsible for the day to day leadership, guidance and line management of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) that work within the SCMHRS. The SCMHRS provides Mental Health rehabilitation assessment, treatment, care coordination and health education for Adults (aged 16-65 years), their families/carers/partners and relevant stakeholders. The role involves supervision of nursing and allied health professionals, Peer workers, and support staff. The SCMHRS Team Coordinator will provide clinical interventions and expert clinical counsel to Adult consumers and their carers. The Team Coordinator will have clinical and operational responsibility for the Shoalhaven Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications and experience in mental health: • Occupational Therapy & Social Work: minimum Bachelor degree and 3 years’ full time equivalent experience • Nursing: minimum Bachelor degree in nursing or equivalent with minimum 3 years’ full time equivalent experience.
  • AHPRA registration required as follows: • Occupational therapy – full registration • Nursing – full registration as a Division 1 registered nurse. For social work eligibility for membership of AASW is required.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and broad experience in the coordination of a multi-disciplinary team providing community based psychiatric services.
  • Proven Clinical experience and ability to provide Mental Health Rehabilitation assessment and interventions and working within the principles of recovery oriented mental health service delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in continuous quality improvement practices
  • Ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated and provide effective problem solving, negotiation and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer skills.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C – Unrestricted).
