Opportunity for 8 Unaccredited Trainee positions for 2022 in Hunter New England Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service. Rotations will include John Hunter, Maitland and Tamworth Hospitals.

Where you’ll be working

The Maternity and Gynaecology Service based at John Hunter Hospital under the Hunter New England Health District. The Maternity and Gynaecology Service has 48 Obstetric beds (with an additional 15 flexible beds) and performs 4,300 deliveries per annum.

We offer world class facilities that are constantly growing and expanding to include new and better training and service provision.

Experience urban/tertiary training in a city full of lifestyle but at half the price of Sydney living, and much shorter travel times.

We have outstanding rural sites that offer fantastic training with enthusiastic and experienced clinicians, in addition to a great rural community collaborative ethos where the network provides the required support.

If you want Metropolitan lifestyle – we have it, if you want rural lifestyle-we have it. We offer the best of both worlds, and an opportunity to try both.

What you’ll be doing

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment.

Unaccredited trainees will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system.

Unaccredited Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (e.g. antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics.
